How To Jailbreak / Root Samsung Galaxy S4

If you are willing to jailbreak or root Android 4.2.2 on Galaxy S4 we have given below the tutorial on how to root samsung galaxy s4, the steps below are compatible for Galaxy s4 I9505 LTE Jelly Bean Official Firmware. The rooting procedure will be done using the Odin v1.85.

As usual we recommend some things which should be done before starting the galaxy s4 rooting. Most importantly you should backups your device in order to restore your data, apps and settings etc.

This samsung galaxy s4 rooting process is compatible for GT- I9505 model which is the LTE version with Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad-Core CPU.

Before you start to root samsung galaxy s4 you have to charge it fully or atleast it should have 80 percent battery.

Make sure you have already installed USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy S4 on your computer.

You should enable USB debugging in the settings as below:

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap on “Applications”
  • Ggo to “Development”
  • Now select/check “USB debugging” from there

How To Root / Jailbreak Samsung Galaxy S4

Step 1: Download the file which we will use to root the device click this link to download  CF-Auto-Root Android 4.2.2 Package and extract the zip file on your computer.

Step 2: Download Odin v3.07 and extract the odin.exe file click here to download.

Step 3: Put your galaxy device in the download mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down + Home buttons together and then press the Power button. As soon as you see a warning screen, press Power button again to confirm to enter the Download Mode.

Step 4: Now execute the  Samsung galaxy s4 rooting program Odin as Administrator by right clicking and selecting Run As Administrator, after Odin window is open connect the galaxy s4 to your computer using USB cable, Odin will recognize and display “Added” message, if not recognized it means your USB drivers for galaxy s4 are not installed properly.

Step 5: In the main Odin window click PDA button Odin will ask to select the rooting file for galaxy s4. Please browse your computer and select the file “CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip” which we have already downloaded. Please remember this file is to be used to jailbreak or root Galaxy s4 I9505 LTE Jelly Bean Official Firmware for other models there might be seperate file available which we will try to update here when available.

Step 6: After that select two options on Odin window i.e. “Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time”, and click the START button to start flashing Galaxy s4.

Step 7: Once the galaxy s4 rooting is completed a PASS message will be displayed in the Odin window with a green background in the left-most box at the top of the Odin.

After the root Galaxy S4 will restart automatically and now your Samsung galaxy s4 is rooted.
