After reading below article you shall be able to protect your iOS 6.0 or 6.1 untethered jailbreak for future. What does it mean to protect a jailbreak? Well, if you are new to Apple devices you should understand that after some time of releasing new iOS versions Apple stops signing the previous old iOS versions that means if someone is willing to downgrade from a new version to old version he will not be able to do so because when iTunes will contact the Apple server it will not recognize/allow the device hence preventing to downgrade. It means if you upgraded lets say to a new version i.e. iOS 6.1.2 or 7 and now you need a jailbreak there is possibility that jailbreak for that version is not available because Apple also updates the security of its operating systems with new releases to stop jailbreakers to jailbreak.

To solve this issue famous jailbreaker notcom has given us the option of saving the shsh blobs of our devices, by using the saved blobs we can easily downgrade to previous version for which we already saved the shsh blobs, even if Apple has stopped signing that iOS version. So right now it is best time to save your shsh blobs using the famous tool TinyUmbrella. You can check our previous post on how to save shsh blobs using TinyUmbrella. Although once a device is jailbroken the SHSH blobs are saved on Cydia server automatically, but as a precautionary measure you must save them on your computer, in this way you can track the different blobs for different firmware.

On the other hand if you are willing to restore or rejailbreak your device you will need to protect your installed Cydia jailbreak for which you can use many Cydia tweaks i.e. AptBackUp, that store your installed repos and tweaks which you can easily restore by using these tweaks.

Another reason of loosing your evasi0n jailbreak is accidental installation of new version of iOS via OTA, because it is possible that some users see update message and select the option of update hence loosing their jailbreak, to avoid that situation evasi0n is updated to version 1.3 which disables the OTA update message so you will be save at least by not receiving update message form Apple. So if you have jailbroken using evasi0n 1.0 it is recommended to upgrade to evasi0n 1.3 via Cydia.
